Winning Streak

This whole week, my luck's been nothing short of fantastic. Crazy ass catches from Mousehunt (finally got my Mysterious Blueprints!), PHY2032 was much easier than expected and she still remembers me. =) As with everything in the universe, luck follows a sinusoidal curve. Nothing is forever bad, or forever good. I just hope my luck doesn't run out at 9.30 AM tomorrow...

Danger

Why do I sense that tomorrow's gonna be a bad day? Oh yeah, the GG paper PHY2032. Sien. Night all. Tomorrow we go to die. I pray hard that my 39/50 internal grade and the 35 MCQs will save me from the GG essay questions.

Physiokinetix

Sigh. 4 whole days to my next exam. I hate it when they give you long breaks between papers. It really dampens your study mojo. =( Then by the time exam comes around, back in holiday mood. Oh well, let's play Chrono Cross! =D

Note #1: Good luck to all my peeps sitting for their final exam right now! Lucky bastards, you guys free after 4.30PM. >:(

GG'd by the Rex

Sien. BTH2752 was an epic fail, as expected. Left 30 marks blank due to lack of time. Not that I knew how to answer anyway, haha. Thank god Michael told me to do the 2008 past year exam, if not I would have just left the minute the exam started. Khoo says there's no hurdle to pass, so I'm pretty confident of getting a P. 36.4 out of 50 for internal grade, so i need 14 out of 50 for the exam. Thats 51 marks needed out of the 180 allocated in the exam. Quite passable, indeed. Cheers to surviving the hardest unit in Monash so far! Onward to Physiology of Human Health (PHY2032)!

Cellulometabulosaur

Tomorrow is the day of reckoning. BTH2752 a.k.a. Cellular Metabolism, one on one, mano-a-mano, no holds barred, anything goes match. Am I ready? HELL NO. Will I give it my all? That's all I can do, right? It's time for payback. I go in, not expecting to come out alive, but I sure as hell will take as many of those bastards down with me! Monashians, to battle!

Note #1: Happy 200th post! It feels like yesterday when VoE went online. How fitting it is that we ride into the face of death.

R.P.G. (Radiculopathy)

This is one of my favourite X-play moments of all time - Morgan Webb explaining what happens if you play too many RPGs. LOL, enjoy. I miss X-play. =( *sobs* Sounds way too similar to my life too...

Volume 3

The blog makeover reflects my third form, where I have stepped out of depression to regain my ancient glories, and hopefully find salvation from those I have wronged in the time of darkness. Update changes:
  • New header. I love this wallpaper.. so sensual yet it captures the spirit and keeps one in awe at its beauty.
  • New sidebar titles.
  • The labels widget now shows a cloud with no number of posts. Much nicer to look at. (The bigger the word, the more posts are labelled with it by the way.)
  • Followers widget is back. Scammer aqlye is banned.
  • New Search widget for easy browsing.

Archangel Down

Haha, what an easy exam. BTH2752 won't be this simple... The MCQ were quite frankly, bonus marks. No application questions as everyone feared. =) The subjective questions were mixed though. Overall, a fun paper with lots of drawing, labelling and straightforward "know or don't know" answers. My minor setbacks:
  • Ascites: WTH? It's not even in the lectures! Thankfully, my Patterned Answer Theory saved me this time. The answer is the abnormal fluid retention in the peritoneal cavity (thanks to Vikash for confirmation).
  • Weird organ labelled A: I didn't have much time left, so I structured my labels by assuming its a bladder. Hope it's something close like kidney if it's wrong.
  • OUT OF TIME! I didn't get to write full sentences for the glenohumeral joint muscles, so I made a bullet list. Please don't penalise me. =(

Looking forward to the next exam on next Friday.

Anatomian Archangel

It is time once again. Ride into battle with no fear, children. I am ready. ANT2331, prepare to be GG'd.

Will of the Mind

The human brain is a powerful thing. It controls our movement, keeps us alive and stores data. This is only 10% of what the brain is capable of. Scientists have long discovered certain untapped parts of the brain that when activated, they predict will make us far more powerful than nature truly intended. Some people can levitate, exhibit mind over matter, read minds, disappear and reappear elsewhere. Sound familiar? This is the premise of Heroes, the TV series. However, there is truth behind the fantasy. In the US, ongoing research is constantly being carried out on telekinesis, telepathy, spontaneous combustion and many paranormal activity. Can we really dismiss this as figments of the imagination?

Everything has a reason. For us to claim this as untrue is mere shallow thinking, because just because you don't know the answer doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Albert Einstein deduced the Theory of Relativity, created the single most destructive weapon in history and changed the course of science. Unlike most people, it was suggested that he used 20% of his brain, judging from active sites in his brain upon investigation. Just imagine the power we would be capable of at 100%.

Even without realising, some of us are unlocking dormant areas of the brain. When we experience bad incidents, we forget the pain in time. This is because the brain chooses what memories to keep and what to erase. That's also why people can take their mind of bitter episodes of their lives by moving on. There is a double-edged sword. The brain can also choose to ingrain the pain permanently, often leading to lunacy among weaker humans.

Some relgious people believe in "willing a person to die", also known as a form of cursing to death. While I have seen proof that it can happen, often the amount of ill intent needed to cause death is simply to great for any sane human. Even then, if the target's will is stronger than the curse-maker's, and he does not believe in curses, their mental powers will clash, preventing actual death. Knowing this fact already makes you stronger against such curses.

Note #1: Angeline Lye, your curse is a sad failure. You believe in it, but I have much more experience in such things. What punishment I get will not be from you, much to your disdain.

Note #2: Lye Aur Quan, keep on pretending curses exist. You shall cause your brother's death, not me.
